ICE CREAM CART at FELIDA VILLAGE
Felida Village – Side Walk
Early in 2017, Ron Edwards was looking for a way to add a new business to Felida Village. He reached out to a friend and local restaurant owner Sarawan Varagoon who was already developing some tasty ice cream business ideas. It was a perfect match for the community!
Sarawan Varagoon loves the creative freedom that her career in the culinary arts provides. She enjoys meeting the public, the lack of stagnation, the busy pace, and the power to make her production process as structured or as free as she likes. Sarawan’s parents opened a restaurant while she was attending college in Portland, and the excitement of helping with that process led her to later attend the Culinary Institute in New York State. Upon her return to the Pacific Northwest, she again teamed up with her family to create the concept restaurants Ginger Pop, Khun Jo’s, and Arawan.
When Ron from Felida Village approached Sarawan about bringing an ice cream venue to the Felida community, Sarawan was excited about the idea.
Village Scoops supports local ice cream makers from Washington and Oregon including Cool Moon in the Pearl District and Tillamook. They are also working with a Vancouver small-batch distributor to brand Village Scoop Ice Cream.
